Developing Our World takes your privacy seriously and take steps to protect the safety of our supporters and partners in mission. We do not sell or otherwise disclose information about our volunteers or supporters outside of our immediate organization. This policy has no exceptions. We do not disclose, share, sell or exchange your information with any other organizations, public, private or nonprofit. All the information provided by you is encrypted and very well saved.
Developing Our World will not practice or permit any unlawful discrimination on the basis of sex, age, race, color, national origin, religion, physical handicap or disability, or any other basis prohibited by law. In other words, this organization exists to shine The Light as we serve our neighbor putting holistic community development into practice.
The Executive Director of Developing Our World is the main contact and link between individuals, churches, and organizations in the USA and organizations overseas. The reason is to avoid duplication of efforts as well as confusion and expectations about the work. Having said that, with our globalized and interconnected world though social media, we understand that you may end up having a friend overseas or vice-versa that you have further contact. We encourage the building of relationships. Nevertheless, regarding the coordination of the work, it must be between the executive director and the leaders involved.
Save the Date Policy
When you are prepared to select travel dates with Developing Our World, you need to save the date. The date may be saved at any time but no later than 6 months prior to the departure date. It will help all of us to have enough time to organize and coordinate the trip. If the trip is canceled more than 45 days prior to the departure date, the deposit will be fully refunded. The deposit amount will not be refunded if the trip is canceled within 45 days of the departure date (unless the reason be due to an act of God).
Disbursed and Accountability of the Funds Policy
Developing Our World has a very clear policy about accountability with regards to monies donated or paid trip expenses. All of the funds sent overseas will be accountable first according the coconstructed accountability built between our organization and the partner organization overseas or in the US. In this coconstructed accountability, we took into consideration (1) expectations, (2) the laws of each country, (3) the process that each organization has, and (4) the idiosyncrasy. As a cross-cultural organization, we want to honor God, our donors, and our partners. In order for this to happen we have to accept that we think differently, our cultures are different, and procedures are different. We strive to avoid paternalism, arrogance and dependency. Secondly, upon the formal request of our partner, we will provide a report within 30 days.
Relationships with Overseas Organizations Policy
Developing Our World has relationships of respect with the organizations we are working. This respect is based on the previous policies as well as on a signed partnership agreement. In the case of not understanding cultural issues, we want to encourage you not to assume anything, but first ask the executive team of our organization to seek understanding. Also, we should avoid saying yes for every single request from the field. Respectfully, you can receive a written list of requests without making commitments to provide the requests. As you return, please share the request with the executive team leader. We can discuss the needs as an organization and with your team so we can achieve common understanding.
Thank you for your generous gift and/or purchase of our service in support of Developing Our World! We are a non profit organization and we greatly appreciate your donation! Gifts that are specified will be used according to the specification. Gifts that are not specified will be used as needed within the organization. Purchases of a specific service will be used for the purpose chosen. We are committed to being good stewards with monies given to our organization.
Donations and/or purchases may be refunded within 15 days as it was made and will be refunded upon request by check. Please e-mail us requesting the refund. On the request, please, provide:
